AKRAB Strengthening Course Series 2 2024 : Family Counseling

SERDANG, April 30 - AKRAB Strengthening Course Series 2 2024: Financial Intervention is an initiative of UPM's Public Service Mentoring Partner (AKRAB) and the Self-Development Section, UPM Counseling Division. Program director Dr. Nik Farhan binti Mustapha, Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication at Universiti Putra Malaysia who is also the Welfare and Spirituality Exco of AKRAB. The guest speaker at the AKRAB Strengthening course this time is Encik Md Noh bin Saiman K.B.;P.A. is the Chief Assistant Director, Intervention and Counseling Unit of the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) who is an individual with extensive experience in the field of family counseling. The program was successfully implemented on 26 April 2024 from 8.30 am to 1.00 pm. The location of the program is in the Auditorium, UPM Counseling Division. This course is conducted as a strengthening of knowledge for UPM AKRAB members in preparation for conducting coaching sessions for colleagues at their respective Responsibility Centers in line with AKRAB's objective of providing guidance services to help colleagues to improve their potential and personal excellence.

A total of 57 participants consisting of UPM AKRAB members and UPM Counseling Division Psychological Officers have participated in this program. The impact of the program is to increase the knowledge and confidence of UPM AKRAB members in conducting guidance sessions at their respective PTJs, especially on issues involving families. In addition, the impact of this program is as an initiative to realize the mission of AKRAB UPM which is to help colleagues who need help in facing life's problems. AKRAB UPM coordinator, Mr. Mohamad Ashaari bin Awab K.B.; P.A. intending that this program will be able to ensure that one of AKRAB's missions can be achieved, which is to make AKRAB an intermediary between officers at PTJ and BKUPM's Psychological Officers in screening problems especially in family counseling interventions. He is also confident that this can be achieved based on the excellent program content and solid commitment shown by the UPM AKRAB members who participated in the Course this time.

He also hoped that the participation of AKRAB members in UPM's AKRAB strengthening programs would give added value to AKRAB members to play an important role in helping the University management form a group of quality, prosperous employees. Appreciation was also given to the committee who worked hard in moving the program this time until it was successful.
